I just recently bought 2″ faux wood blinds for my apartment, and I absolutely love them! At first I wasn’t sure if I wanted to put faux wood blinds in the windows. I wasn’t sure if I should get real wood, I wasn’t even sure if cellular shades would be a better option , they seem to be the newest fad. Then, I thought, what’s the reason I’m buying these? Maybe that would help me to narrow down the options.

Is it because I need privacy, room darkening, or blackout , or do I need it to do more than one thing? I knew I definitely wanted something easy to clean , it seems like there is dust collecting everywhere in this apartment! In total, I only have 3 windows ,2 in the bedroom and 1 in the living area , so there is not too much natural light to begin with.

I do like to sleep in on my days off and I have a projector in the living room, so I figured I needed to have the option of having room darkening. But since there is not too much light, I didn’t want to feel like I’m living in a cave. Which basically helped me to answer my own question , I needed to have a blind , so I could tilt the slats to let in as much or as little light as possible, and have control over privacy too.

So, I decided to do some research on the Internet so I could weigh the pros and cons of real wood vs. faux wood. It turns out since I was doing white, I might as well go with the faux wood , it looks the same, it’s easier to clean, and it was cheaper! We hung them all up last week , and they look fabulous!!
