New Year, New Look.
It is a new year and it is time for a new look, as a resident of Melrose, MA for over the past 25 years  the city has been a great place to live; and 2015 has been a great year to me. Now it’s a new year; and time to get rid of that old dated look. Spring will be here before we know it!
I used to  live in an old 1940 victorian  3 story home. I remember growing up, my mother used to call our house the giant freezer oven. The first two floors were as  cold as the south pole that we needed hats and gloves to feel comfortable, while the third floor was  always hot like a desert. The solution that my parents came up with to solve the bad insulation  problem was to buy a bunch yellow foam wraps that has silver foil on the top of them for the some of the bedroom walls that has crack in them. They also taped the windows shut. As a kid I did not mind cause I was fascinated with my new shiny wall.
Fast forward 15 years later and moved to my own place. I decided to update the decor of my parent’s house  and deal will the shiny walls. The only problem is I know updating such a big house was not going to be cheap. With a budget of three hundred dollars, I found a couple of  great  vintage Indian mandala tapestry made out of cotton for the walls. I also found 3 pairs of old silver five foot tall lamps. I decided to go to my local paint store and bought 4 spray cans so that I can paint them over to match my Indian tapestry that has a little bit of yellow and green in the design. This helped me create a new look and inexpensively!Â
