Cellular Shades

By: Karen E.

TDBU Cellular

As the summer begins, the heat comes with it.  Now the windows that you enjoyed being open for the view, are a source of sunlight pouring in, heating up your already sweltering home.  Most of the time the thermal curtains that customers had up during the winter have already been taken down and stored away, and they realize they need a solution to keep out the heat.  Although any window covering would really be a solution to keeping out the heat, the best one would be cellular shades.

Being Cold is so 2013! (So is unnecessary expenses!)

By: Meghan

FAMILYRMREDCELLULAR
Snow storms are happening, it is winter time after all. (Yes really, already!) The temperature is plummeting, and heating bills are sky rocketing. Gas, oil, electric, and even buying wood for those wood stoves can get costly. You don’t want to go into debt so you are wearing long johns, wooly socks, flannels, sweats, and it is almost getting to the time to resort to mittens, scarves, and hats in the house. Stop! Don’t button one more button on that coat and halt that zipper on your ski suit.

Keeping the Winter Cold Out!

By: Kayla
Wohnzimmer in hellen Farben eingerichtet
“The weather outside is frightful…. but the fire inside’s delightful”…  Snow is one of those great things that goes along with winter, it gives you that feeling that the holiday season is here and makes us merry.  The one thing that no one misses is coming inside from those harsh cold days that winter can also bring along and not being able to warm up, or that pesky drafty window in the hallway that shoots our heating bills up and gives us the chills when we walk by.  Believe it or not, there is a solution for that, and this may just be the best time of year to get that problem under wrap-ping paper.

Around this time of year, there are a lot of people trying to update the interior of their homes.  Summer projects have drawn to an end, and with cooler temperatures, it is a good time to focus on indoor projects.  For starters, with the nights being cooler you want to bring some of the warmth back into your home.  All of the bright, colorful accents, and light colors you used to decorate for the summer have started to look out of place.

Help It’s Drafty!!

By: Karen

FAMILYRMREDCELLULAR
Chances are, even though the cool nights have just begun, thoughts are already on your mind of how expensive the heating bills are going to be all winter.  Memories of the huge bills from last years chilly winter are flashing in your head.  And the reminder of telling yourself you were going to do some updates over the summer to prevent such bills from coming up this year…

Of course the most impactful change would be to replace your windows.  That also, unfortunately, is the most expensive way to attack the issue.  The least expensive option would be to get some of the “plastic wrap” for your windows. It is a plastic layer you add onto the frame of your windows, that traps the air and creates a barrier.  The only issue is, it is really not all that attractive of a solution to leave up all winter in the nicer areas of your house.

Baby it’s Cold Outside

By: Meghan

FAMILYRMREDCELLULAR
Chestnuts roasting on an open fire, Jack Frost- brr! Something is nipping at your nose, your toes, and it’s only November! It shouldn’t be that cold, and oh the heating cost! Time to do something about those windows where the chill is coming in. You could crank up the heat, oh wait- you want to buy presents this year- and not everyone has a fireplace. Even if you do you are already cleaning- soot isn’t a good look. Maybe wrap the windows in plastic? Make everyone where parkas, and mittens? Though plastic takes away from your decor, and eating cranberry sauce and pie in parkas? Eating cookies in mittens?

The Shade That Keeps on Saving

By: Sherry

014_smartcell_lf_stone_022
Choosing a cellular shade will help you save money in the long run because they are insulating. This means they will trap the air that can pass through a window. In the summer time, the hot air outside will be filtered through the shade’s cell and less will pass through into the room. With winter approaching, the cell design will also prevent your room’s warm air from passing through the window as well. Cellular shades also have a white backing to them, to reflect sunlight away from the window. Cellular shades are not the most expensive product to buy and in the long run, they will help keep your electric bill down as well. They are the ultimate money saver.

Sunrooms – Cellulars

By: Teresa

016_mandlay_bo_moccassin_008

When looking for window treatments for a sunroom there are a few main objectives to keep in mind. These include: light transmission, glare, visibility, privacy, and insulation. Depending on the age and location of the home, some or all of these could be deciding factors on which type of window treatment to choose. One option which meets all of these criteria is a cellular shade, possibly with a top-down/bottom-up feature added for more control.
