If you are shopping for a home, or contemplating an addition to your home, I would suggest looking for one with, or adding on a sun room. You just cannot place a value on the added benefits of having one!

Sun rooms are comprised mostly of windows. Studies show that abundant light enhances mood and aids in learning. Students in classrooms with lots of natural light perform better and are healthier. They are happier overall. Wouldn’t turning a sun room into an office or study be a fantastic idea? Think of the increased productivity whether there are students in the house or you work straight from home!

Abundant natural light can also help those who suffer from SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder). People who do not get enough sun are more likely to come down with this. SAD can lead to disorders such as depression, but a sun room can be an excellent way to get your daily dose of sunlight. Just a little bit of exposure can make a huge difference to your quality of life.

Also, if you have an elderly family member living with you, a sunroom can benefit them too. Older people have less trouble reading, seeing and moving around. They are less likely to injure themselves and they benefit from the improved mood as well. Think about making this into a room for them.
