Black Out Shades

What do you think of when someone says blackout shades? Do you think of something that gives you privacy, not allowing anyone to look in your windows or see any shadows or silhouettes? Do you think of cave dark where no light or visibility comes through the product what so ever? Well black out can mean a variety of things to each individual person, but I will define what it really means!
Porch

There is always this huge dilemma on what I should do on my enclosed porch. It is great when spring rolls around, because that’s when I remove the screens from the windows. This makes it nice and cool in the spring and summer time, and I can sit at the porch and enjoy this glorious time of year. There is only one huge problem every year. The glare and the light can be very intense. You would think that is an easy fix, but it isn’t. You see the issue that I keep having is that the window isn’t fully enclosed, so when the screens come out Mother Nature comes right in and takes over! How am I going to solve this problem?

Mini Blinds

I feel like mini blinds have been around forever. Why have they lasted so long? What makes them so special? Why do people like them so much? I remember when I was growing up you could just pick up a set of mini blinds at a corner store and put them up. There was one time that the blinds I bought were too big, but I made them fit. I took a knife and cut them to fit the window, those were the times. Nowadays mini blinds have grown to a point where they are all that matters. They are not your pick up and go type of blinds to just have privacy.
Roller Shades

What do you think of when you think of roller shades?
I know what I remember, and believe me it is not a pretty site! Does anyone remember when you could pick up roller shades from a local store? Those things were hideous! They were the cheap vinyl, and they only came in white or off white. The way they operated was horrible. I still have scars on my hand! Remember they were on a spring system, so you can catch and stop it in place, but it seemed to never work. I would try to stop it in place and it would just spring back up. They did have a scallop option at the bottom, but you could never pick the scallop style they were always the same. I always said they needed to be updated somehow. The only nice thing about them at that time was that they were just easy to clean.
